Hello - I am renting a commercial unit as an art studio. Is it compulsory for me to take an insurance as a tenant ? Or is it optional ?

If compulsory, which one is compulsory ? Fire or Theft and civil responsibility ?

The landlord would have insurance against fire for the property.

As a tenant, you should take up insurance for your 'belongings'..

It is not compulsory. But if there is a fire, landlord is covered.

While your stuffs that are burned, you cannot claim from Landlord.

It is your loss. Read More
