I rented a commercial property and it was handed over back to the landlord a week ago. On the day of handover, another item to be rectified was pointed out to me but no clear indication that it needs to be fulfilled.

When I asked for my security deposit yesterday, they mentioned that I need to rectify that item (which I would) and additional rental will be charged as the rectification is done after the unit handover. They have yet to inform me how many days rental will be charged. Also, I do not have access to the unit anymore so I can't rectify on the day itself. Can this be done by the landlord? Any advice appreciated.

Hi Kathy,

Is this a commercial or private landlord? You may wish to communicate with the landlord directly to see if you can work out anything with the landlord. Sometimes it is not about just going by the book or contract but the personal touch to get things sorted out may do wonders. Read More
