Singapore-listed Far East Organization will open two resorts in Bali and Bintan through its Far East Hospitality arm, as part of the company’s expansion in Indonesia.
Marina Buenaventura, Head of field sales at Far East Hospitality, said the Bali resort was under construction while the Bintan property is entering its final stages.
“We expect to start operations at our Bali resort-style hotel in the middle of 2015 while the one in Bintan would open by the end of 2015,” said Buenaventura, adding that the company will introduce its exclusive Quincy brand of boutique hotels in both locations.
“Quincy is the perfect accommodation for people who are looking for privacy and exclusivity. The hotel is accessible only with guestroom keycards even in the restaurant and lobby.”
To accommodate the rising demand for leisure travel in Bintan and Bali, Far East plans to build over 200 rooms and suites in each hotel.
The Bali resort will be located in the Jimbaran area. Long-term, the company is looking at opening hotels in major cities like Jakarta and Medan, as well as in second-tier cities such as Makassar and Yogyakarta.
Other brands to be introduced in Indonesia include Oasia and Village.
The firm is also looking to expand in Southeast Asia and Australia in the next few years, especially in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. It also plans to add two hotels – Amoy Hotel and Village Hotel Katong in Singapore.
Far East Hospitality also wants to tap into the serviced residences market.
“We are always open to those opportunities. Our business development team is exploring the feasibility of the serviced residences business. We now have representatives in Jakarta,” said Buenaventura.
