Frasers Centrepoint friday (1 August) launched Northpoint City (pictured), an upcoming integrated project in Nee Soon that comprises residential blocks, a transport hub and northern Singapore’s biggest mall with a built-in Community Club.
With an estimated gross floor area of 850,000 sq ft, the mall will feature more than 500 retail and dining options, which is twice the current offering at the existing Northpoint Shopping Centre. A 4,000 sq m-Community Club can also be found inside the shopping mall.
“A good lifestyle destination needs to be accessible, and Northpoint City is designed to bring seamless connectivity to the heart of Nee Soon. The development will contain an integrated transport hub with an air-conditioned bus interchange and a new shopping underpass to Yishun MRT station,” said Frasers Centrepoint’s Group CEO Lim Ee Seng.
There will also be parking spaces for 300 bicycles and over 1,000 cars, new covered pedestrian bridges and a dedicated cycling network spanning 15.5 kilometres, while the proposed Thomson Line and North-South Expressway will further improve connectivity by 2020.
Apart from a 4,400 sq m Town Plaza that is equivalent to the size of 10 basketball courts, the mixed-use project also includes North Park Residences, which offers a total of 920 apartments spread across 12 blocks. The project will also come with children’s play areas and a roof-top Community Garden.
“Residents at North Park Residences will not only get to enjoy the lifestyle choices and great convenience that Northpoint City offers, they will also benefit from what Nee Soon offers” such as good schools, advanced medical facilities and an array of recreational amenities, he added.
“Northpoint City will be a milestone in transforming Nee Soon into a vibrant heartland. Residents can look forward to quality homes with a comprehensive suite of amenities and seamless connectivity,” said Mr K Shanmugam, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law, and MP for Nee Soon GRC.
The project is expected to be completed in 2018.
