Banking on the demand for office space amid supply crunch, self-storage company Lock+Store has launched 1300 sq ft of net leasable office space at its flagship Chai Chee self-storage facility.

Previously a self-storage-only facility, Lock+Store Chai Chee now offers serviced offices with sizes ranging from 81 to 481 sqft and suitable for one to five persons.

Helen Ng, Chief Executive Officer at Lock+Store said: “Apart from basic services like air-conditioning, a meeting room, a pantry with refrigerator, high-speed wifi and 24/7 access and security, we also offer free calls to local numbers and photocopying and scanning services at very competitive rates. Our front-end customer service officers will also accept deliveries on our customers’ behalf.”

In a statement, Lock+Store said the move is in line with SingPost’s focus “helping local small medium enterprises to expand their businesses in domestic market as well as extend into the region.”

The company has also refurbished its existing office space at Tanjong Paga, which will expand the net leasable space by 850 sq ft.

“Currently our occupancy rate at Tanjong Pagar stands at 90 percent. There is pent-up demand for serviced offices in a prime location like Tanjong Pagar among SMEs who want to be centrally located but who do not wish to pay high rents,”  Ng added.
