A commercial site along Beach Road has been made available for application for sale under the Reserve List of the 2H 2014 Government Land Sales (GLS) programme, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) announced Wednesday, 26 November.
Occupying 2ha of land area, the 99-year leasehold land parcel is located at the intersection of Beach Road, and the Ophir-Rochor roads.
According to URA, it allows a commercial development on the site, with the conservation and restoration of the former Beach Road Police Station. The development can go up to 45 storeys, and will have a gross floor area (GFA) of about 947,000 sq ft. Additionaly, the statutory board also noted that 70 percent or about 665,000 sq ft of the GFA will have to be set aside for office use.
“The future development is envisaged to provide high quality office space with complementary uses that can meet the needs of financial and business services. This new development will also reinforce the area’s positioning as an attractive and vibrant mixed use precinct within the city centre,” URA said.
