To scout for potential investments and joint ventures, members of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) toured Lippo Cikarang’s industrial estate in Indonesia, according to media reports.
Lead by Trade and Industry Minister of State Teo Ser Luck and SBF director Alan Tan, about 50 key officials from various Singaporean firms visited the industrial estate known as Delta Silicon 2, which is situated about 30 kilometres east of Jakarta.
The delegation also dropped by Cellini Design Center, a Singaporean maker of furniture and accessories with factories in the industrial estate.
According to Lippo Cikarang’s President Director Meow Chong Loh, Delta Silcon 2 is expanding rapidly due to the many reputable multination corporations (MNCs) it accommodates, such as Honda, Toyota, Danone, Hyundai, Hankook, Coca-Cola and Bridgestone.
But at present, the industrial township developer is focusing with the construction of Orange Country, a mixed-use project valued at 250 trillion rupiah (S$26.73 billion). Measuring 322 hectares, the township includes hospitals, five-star hotels, international schools and family entertainment centres, he added.
