Singapore’s largest warehouse retail mall has opened its doors in Jurong East on 27 December, according to media reports, to provide shoppers with a diverse choice of products.
Known as Big Box, the eight-storey megastore is a stone’s throw from the Jurong East MRT station. With about 400,000 sq ft of retail space spread across three levels, it is the biggest project under the Economic Development Board’s Warehouse Retail Scheme.
Specifically, the ground floor houses Warehouse Mart, a hypermart that boasts the city-state’s largest frozen seafood section. Big Box also has a consumer electronics store, a shop that sells outdoor and sporting goods, as well as another that specialises in geriatric items, like wheelchairs and adult diapers.
In addition to a food court and an event hall, the megastore also offers furniture, furnishings and home design services at the second and third levels. On top of that, buyers can order non-perishable goods via the internet and pick them up at a drive-through service.
The megamall’s business hours are from 10am to 10pm daily.
