Developer M+S announced Tuesday (27 January) that it has signed a management agreement with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts to develop Southeast Asia’s first Andaz hotel which will form part of the company’s upcoming DUO development.
Scheduled to open in 2017, the development located in the Ophir-Rochor district is owned 60:40 by Malaysia’s strategic investment fund Khazanah Nasional, and Singapore’s investment company Temasek Holdings.
The 15-storey Andaz Singapore, which will sit atop DUO’s Grade A offices in DUO Tower, will offer over 340 five-star hotel rooms with a gross floor area of 307,040 sq ft or about 18 percent of DUO’s total gross floor area of 1.73 million sq ft. Amenities include a lounge area, meeting and events spaces, restaurants, a rooftop outdoor venue, an outdoor swimming pool, and a fitness and spa area.
Speaking to the media at the signing ceremony, M+S Chairman of the board Tan Sri Azman Yahya said they are delighted to collaborate with the international hotel operator to introduce its first Andaz hotel to the region.

“Andaz Singapore at DUO marks a significant milestone for M+S in our efforts to transform Singapore’s cityscape through our two iconic projects: DUO and Marina One,” he said.
David Udell, group president – Asia Pacific for Hyatt, said the Andaz brand is “an ideal fit” for the DUO development because of the demand for both business and leisure travel in Singapore.
Notably, Hyatt’s modern luxury lifestyle Andaz brand was launched in 2007 and currently operates 12 Andaz hotels worldwide.
In addition to the hotel, DUO consists of 660 prime residences, 570,000 sq ft of prime Grade A office space, and a retail gallery of 56,000 sq ft.
