Singapore-listed property developer, Guocoland on Wednesday (30 September), announced that it has signed a milt-year contract with gym operator Virgin Active for a 31,000 sq ft space at its integrated development Tanjong Pagar Centre.
The gym, which will be Virgin Active’s second outlet in Singapore will be housed on the sixth floor of Guoco Tower, Tanjong Pagar Centre’s Grade A office building.
Opening in mid-2016, the fitness centre will feature a S$500,000 high altitude training studio which will simulate altitudes of up to 3,000 metres to improved the training benefit of a 200 sq m studio that can accommodate up to 50 people. According to GuocoLand, both studios will be the largest among the operator’s gyms in Asia.
Located on top the Tanjong Pagar MRT station, Tanjong Pagar Centre spans 1.7 million sq ft that integrate 890,000 sq ft of premium Grade A office space, a 100,000 sq ft dynamic lifestyle and F&B component. Scheduled for completion in mid-2016, the integrated development will also feature 181 luxurious homes, 222 luxury 5-star hotel rooms and a 150,000 sq ft landscaped Urban Park.
