Far East Hospitality is set to operate three new hotels in Sentosa by mid-2019 that are mostly aimed at the mid-tier market, reported Channel News Asia.
Featuring a total of 839 rooms, The Outpost Sentosa, Village Hotel Sentosa and a yet-to-be-named third hotel will be located at Artillery Avenue within the Palawan area of Sentosa.
“Sentosa is a regional tourist spot. It has a host of attractions, and is easily accessible to the Central Business District, making it an ideal location amongst travellers who are here for leisure or business,” said Far East Hospitality chief executive officer Arthur Kiong.
“However, the mid-tier segment in Sentosa is underserved. With these three new properties, we hope to fill the gap of the mid-tier segment, while catering to the growing category of discerning travellers and Singapore’s robust staycation market.”
In a release, Far East Hospitality revealed that the 606-room Village Hotel Sentosa will be targeted at the mid-tier market, including travellers from international and regional markets as well as Singaporeans looking for a family weekend getaway.
The 193-room The Outpost Sentosa, on the other hand, will cater to young couples looking for exclusivity, while the 40-room third hotel will be targeted at the upscale market.
In a bid to raise its visitorship, Sentosa, which is currently home to 13 hotels, has unveiled plans to improve connectivity as well as roll out new and upgraded attractions in June.
The changes include the revamp of the Merlion Gateway, which is set to be completed in 2021, and the addition of two new tracks to Skyline Luge Sentosa.
