Raffles Singapore, which is due to close on 13 December for a major refurbishment, will offer three new suite categories when it reopens in 2H 2018, reported TTG.
The iconic hotel began its first phase of renovation in February.
The new suite categories – Studio Suites, Promenade Suites and Residence Suites – will complement the existing five suite categories of the hotel.
The move will bring the hotel’s total number of suites to 115 from the current 103.
Operated by French hotel giant Accor, the hotel also revealed plans for a new Raffles Spa within Raffles Arcade, which will continue to feature a “refreshed” gift shop and a History Gallery showcasing the heritage of the property.
“The History Gallery exhibits the hotel’s heritage over the past 130 years, and highlights the role Raffles Singapore played as a landmark in the country, and also in the region,” said Raffles Singapore general manager Christian Westbeld.
As part of the refurbishment, historic venues like the Writers Bar, Tiffin Room and Long Bar will be renovated.
Wedding and event area will be improved including the refurbishment of the outdoor and indoor venues as well as the conversion of Jubilee Hall into a 300-guest ballroom.
“We are pleased to share these updates, designed to keep Raffles Singapore relevant and distinctive to our guests while providing a new level of excitement with sublime experiences,” said Westbeld.
“At the same time, careful consideration has been taken to ensure we retain the ambience and what is unique to Raffles Singapore.”
