Chinese-phone maker Huawei and Keppel Data Centres Holdings (KCDH) yesterday announced the launch of Huawei’s Cognitive Data Centre reference site at Keppel DC Singapore 4.
The launch comes after KCDH and Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding to explore possible collaboration on data centre efficiency and sustainability within the areas of high performance computing, green technology, networking solutions and scientific software application, among others.
The cognitive data centre reference site will showcase the two companies’ application of cognitive computing in a data centre environment, where enterprises can leverage on deep learning as well as AI-driven computing to drive automated insights which will inform their next step of growth.
In a release, Huawei and KCDH revealed that the site will feature technologies that provide virtualised and energy efficient data centre management system – enabling enterprises to lower maintenance and operating costs while improving their operational efficiency.
“Enabling cognitive intelligence for data centres will help enterprises identify gaps and opportunities quickly and move ahead of the competition,” said Wang Shao Tong, managing director of Huawei Enterprise Business Group (Singapore).
Meanwhile, Keppel Data Centres global head of sales Kenny Khow said the company is pleased that its “track record as the provider of robust and reliable data centre solutions for the digital economy has paved the way to this collaboration with Huawei”.
“Keppel Data Centres is committed to continuously explore improvements that benefit the mission-critical IT infrastructure of our customers and set industry benchmarks. We look forward to potentially uncovering new insights that can enhance the data centre as we know it today.”
