Frasers Hospitality said on Wednesday (14 Nov) that is among the first global hotel brands to establish a presence in Buriram, a province in Northern Thailand that is not only fast emerging as a major sporting hub in Asia but is also a tourism hotspot due to its rich history.
“The opening of Modena by Fraser Buriram, our fourth property in Thailand, is set to redefine Buriram’s hospitality landscape as we aim to provide travellers with a unique guest experience where they discover different facets of this beautiful province,” said Tonya Khong, Frasers Hospitality’s vice president and area general manager for Southeast Asia.
The 152-unit hotel residence is strategically located close to the world-class Chang International Circuit race track and the Chang Arena, a FIFA-standard football stadium that serves as the home turf of Thailand’s leading football team, Buriram United.
“Sports is a key driver of tourism for Buriram, as the province is one of only three venues in Asia contracted to host the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix (MotoGP),” she noted, adding that the property is near cafes, shops, weekend markets and Buriram Castle Mall.
Buriram is also dotted with important historical sites dating back since the Dvaravati era and Khmer Empire. In fact, the province houses the Phanom Rung, a monumental ancient Khmer civilization site situated on top of a dormant volcano that is being considered as a potential UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In addition, Modena by Fraser Buriram features a complete range of facilities that cater to all kinds of travellers. These include free Wi-Fi, a restaurant bar, a 240-sq m function room, a swimming pool, 24/7 fitness centre and home entertainment systems. It also comes with Bistro@M, an open-kitchen concept restaurant that provides all-day dining and showcases the famous Isaan cuisine.
Frasers Hospitality made its first appearance in Thailand with Fraser Suites Sukhumvit in 2007. It then established Modena by Fraser Bangkok, the brand’s first property outside China, and North Park Place, a luxury serviced residence within Bangkok’s posh Rajpruek Golf Club in 2016.
Currently, Frasers Hospitality has a presence in more than 80 cities globally, with over 150 properties totalling over 24,000 keys.
