The redevelopment of Golden Shoe Car Park will feature a 51-storey vertically integrated community comprising 635,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, a 299-unit Citadines serviced residence and ancillary retail space, revealed joint venture partners CapitaLand, CapitaLand Commercial Trust (CCT) and Mitsubishi Estate Co. (MEC).
Slated for completion in H1 2021, the 280-metre development will also see the return of popular Market Street Food Centre. Located on the second and third levels, the new food centre will be owned by the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.
“In line with the government’s efforts to transform Raffles Place into a vibrant green zone with more public spaces, wider walking and cycling paths, enhancements made to the streetscape include the partial conversion of Market Street into a 12,500 sq ft public park,” the developers said in a statement.
The park will be seamlessly integrated with the development’s 19-metre high atrium, known as the City Room, offering activity pockets that can be used for community events.
The new development will also have a four-storey Green Oasis, which boasts a jungle gym, sky hammocks, treetop cocoons, a café as well as a spiral stairway that is set within a botanical promenade.
There will also be a cycling path within its perimeter, 165 bicycle lots as well as end-of trip facilities for users.
“With no new supply of office space completing in Raffles Place until 2021, the Golden Shoe Car Park redevelopment is expected to become a location of choice for progressive companies seeking a prestigious address, modern facilities and a vibrant, work-live-play community to grow their businesses and attract the best talent,” said Kevin Chee, CEO of CCT’s manager.
