Distrii, a China-based firm that runs co-working spaces and develops bespoke smart office solutions, recently opened its first overseas flagship facility in Republic Plaza in Singapore’s CBD.
Located adjacent to Raffles Place MRT station, Distrii Singapore comes with a 2,000 sq ft multi-purpose events hall that can accommodate up to 200 people, along with a cafeteria housing German burger chain Hans Im Gluck and Chinese speciality coffee chain Mellower Coffee. This is in addition to more than 900 workstations, customisable team spaces and private offices.
Touted as the city-state’s single biggest tech-driven co-working space, the six-storey facility measuring 62,000 sq ft features inter-connected smart office technology that boosts productivity and efficiency.
“Distrii differentiates itself from other co-working operators through its industry-leading technology platform, which allows seamless collaboration and connectivity for their members throughout their network of locations,” it said in a statement.
For instance, Distrii’s in-house proprietary app allows members to quickly and conveniently connect to Distrii’s networks just by scanning a QR code through their smartphone.
This application also enables users to unlock meeting/conference rooms and utilise lockers, as well as connect with Distrii’s other co-working space facilities. Members can also make use of conference call facilities, through which they can share files immediately to all people taking part in the conference call.
Founded two years ago in Shanghai, Distrii was established by Dr Hu Jing, an engineer who left his prestigious job as the executive vice-president and chief architect of developer Greenland Group.
The firm’s founding members include property and technology veterans from Vanke, Regus, CBN and Greenland Group.
After opening its first co-working space in Shanghai, Distrii now has 37 facilities across seven cities in China and Singapore. These facilities in Beijing, Nanjing, Suzhou, Xiong’An, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Singapore cater to more than 20,000 members from over 600 companies.
“Dr Hu sees Distrii as more than just an operator of coworking spaces. He sees it as a transformative force in the future workplace,” it added.
