Co-working space operator WeWork has expanded its footprint in Singapore, with the opening of a new facility at 380 Jalan Besar in Kallang on Friday (1 Mar), reported the Business Times.
Situated within the mixed-use development ARC 380, the new facility is WeWork’s first location in Singapore that features additional amenities like a sky terrace with a gym, open rooftop and swimming pool.
The facility, which can accommodate over 380 people, is also the first local branch outside Singapore’s central business district (CBD). Aside from being near downtown Singapore and the Marina Bay Financial Centre, it’s also close to City Square Mall and the future Paya Lebar Commercial Hub.
The Jalan Besar facility is also within proximity to three MRT stations – Bendemeer, Lavender and Boon Keng.
The US-based firm also announced that it plans to open another facility at 109 North Bridge Road in Q2 2019. WeWork currently has 10 branches in the city-state, with the Funan facility at North Bridge Road poised to become the 11th.
“Our growing presence in Singapore is a testament to WeWork’s commitment to reshaping the future of work, empowering our members to grow and thrive, while creating tangible economic value in the markets that we operate in,” said Turochas Fuad, managing director of WeWork Southeast Asia.
“Singapore is at the epicentre of a high growth region with ambitious and capable startups and enterprises hungry for success. We see this as an opportunity for WeWork to grow in lockstep with enterprises to businesses of all sizes, where we support them in building a dynamic and creative community in Singapore, as they expand their footprints across Southeast Asia.”
