Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) has launched a new scheme that allows businesses with innovative ideas to use Sentosa as a ‘sandbox’ to test the viability of their concepts.
Dubbed Sentosa x Enterprise, the scheme offers reduced or waived venue rentals as well as infrastructure and other facilitation resources as businesses test out their concepts.
“In turn, the businesses’ innovation efforts are expected to drive visitorship to Sentosa, enhance guest satisfaction, and support SDC’s environmental sustainability goals,” said SDC.
Proposals will be assessed based on how innovative or novel the concepts are and their ability to achieve the goals of SDC to promote Sentosa as a world-class leisure destination, benefit Singapore’s tourism industry and enhance guest satisfaction.
The focus areas for evaluation include unique offerings, solutions to enhance navigation around the island, as well as sustainable and digital initiatives.
“A unique and leading holiday destination for more than 19 million visitors annually, Sentosa is an ideal testbed for innovators and companies to test the viability of business concepts and prototypes against the backdrop of the island’s diverse offerings and geographical attributes,” said SDC assistant chief executive Chin Sak Hin.
“The private sector has been an important partner in the success of Sentosa and Singapore’s tourism industry, and we look forward to continue this partnership with aspiring innovators and businesses as we take Sentosa to its next stage of growth.”
Interested parties can submit their proposals from 16 April to 30 June.
If selected, applicants will be notified by 31 August.
