Pinterest has put up an office in Singapore as part of its growing work within the Asia-Pacific region, which is their fastest-growing region, reported Singapore Business Review.
This is the social media platform’s second office in the region following the launch of their Tokyo office in 2013.
To service India and Southeast Asia, the Singapore office will work alongside publishers, brands and creators.
The Straits Times reported that the office here will be headed by Ayumi Nakajima, country manager for South-east Asia and India.
Pinterest saw its number of users within the region increased by over 50 percent in the last year. It plans to use its Singapore office to build localised user experiences.
“There is a great opportunity for brands, publishers and creators on Pinterest to connect with these engaged users when they are considering what to do or buy next,” said Nakajima.
“With a team based in Singapore, we’ll be able to offer an even more relevant experience for our users in one of our fastest-growing regions.”
The Singapore team already worked with regional media partners like Indonesia’s Femina Magazine and Vogue India.
