Located at 18 Riverside Road just outside the Woodlands Regional Centre, 1-Net North Data Centre is a five-storey purpose-built facility spanning 200,000 sq ft.
DataCentre One, a 51:49 joint venture company between Keppel Infrastructure Trust’s subsidiary CityDC and WDC Development, has sold 1-Net North Data Centre for $200.2 million.
This comes after CityDC and WDC Development divested their respective interest in DataCentre One to Keppel DC REIT.
Located at 18 Riverside Road just outside the Woodlands Regional Centre, 1-Net North DC is a five-storey purpose-built facility spanning 200,000 sq ft. It offers secure, stable and high-powered infrastructure for digitised content.
The facility, which holds an Uptime Institute Tier 3 certification, conforms with the Threat Vulnerability Risk Assessment (TVRA) specifications of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
It also has Green Mark GoldPlus certification under the Green Mark for Data Centres rating system, which recognises performance efficiencies in areas like water, energy and environment, but with higher emphasis on energy
“The sale is noteworthy given that the supply of data centres is tight across Asia, particularly in Singapore. Data centres are tightly held in the city-state, typically by Telcos, conglomerates and REITs and hardly offered in the market,” said Shaun Poh, executive director of capital markets at Cushman & Wakefield, which handled the sale.
“The tight supply situation is compounded by the fact that Singapore has pledged to reduce carbon emissions putting a lid on the allocation of land for data centre use as these assets consume high volumes of energy.”
He revealed that the tender for 1 Net North DC attracted sizeable interest from both local and international investors.
