The hotel has also lowered its energy, water consumption as well as carbon emissions by installing various green features, including rainwater harvesting system, centralised chilled water system and mechanical ventilation fans.
United Overseas Bank (UOB) has extended Park Hotel Group a $237 million green loan to refinance the refurbishment of its hotel, Grand Park City Hall.
The bank revealed that the loan was issued under its UOB Real Estate Sustainable Finance Framework.
In its 2017 refurbishment plans, Grand Park City Hall wanted to include sustainable and smart features. It retained 90% of its building structure to reduce waste during construction, reported The Business Times.
The hotel also lowered its energy, water consumption as well as carbon emissions by installing various features, such as rainwater harvesting system, centralised chilled water system, water and energy-efficient fixtures, mechanical ventilation fans and a high performance air-to-water heat pump.
As such, Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA) awarded Grand Park City Hall the Green Mark Platinum certification, which is the green building rating system’s highest distinction.
