The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) on Thursday (28 May) launched three confirmed list sites and three reserve list sites – with a total area of 4.40ha – under the Industrial Government Land Sales (IGLS) for the second half of 2020.
The confirmed list sites are located at Tampines North Drive 3, Gambas Avenue/Sembawang Avenue and Jalan Papan. All three sites are zoned for Business 2 use.
In view of the circuit breaker measures and the gradual resumption of businesses from 2 June, the tenders for Plot 2 Tampines North Drive 3 and Plot 3 Gambas Avenue/Sembawang Avenue – both of which come with a 20-year leasehold tenure – are moved from 1H 2020 to 2H 2020 to provide industrialists more time to prepare for such tenders.
The new site at Jalan Papan, which comes with a leasehold tenure of 19 years, will be released under the confirmed list “due to early indications of interest in the area”, said MTI in a release.
As to the reserve list sites, two of them are located in Jalan Papan, with a leasehold tenure of 19 years. The third site is situated at Tampines North Drive 5, with a leasehold tenure of 20 years. All three are zoned for Business 2 use.
Under the reserve list system, the government put up a site for tender if “an interested party submits an application with an offer of a minimum purchase price that is acceptable to the government”.
A reserve site can also be put up for tender if it receives “sufficient market interest in the form of more than one unrelated party submitting minimum purchase prices that are close to the government’s reserve price for the site within a reasonable period”.
Interested parties can submit their application to JTC.
