Hotels in Singapore can now apply to resume staycations as well as reopen recreation areas for children, reported Channel News Asia citing a Singapore Tourism Board (STB) advisory.
The hotels, however, must comply with various safe management measures, which include limiting occupancy to not more than one person per 10 sq m within public spaces accessible to guests at any point of time, excluding hotel staff.
Hotels are also mandated to screen every individual prior to allowing them entry into the building, while requiring everyone to weak mask within the hotel premises unless they are eating, engaging in strenuous exercise or are in their own rooms.
Check-in and check-out timings should also be staggered, while records of guests will be kept at least 28 days following check out.
Each room should also have no more than five guests.
Hotels are also required to implement rigorous disinfecting and cleaning regimes as well as the SafeEntry system.
Each hotel application can take up to 14 days to assess. Once approved, hotels are required to submit a set of data each week.
Hotels used as quarantine, stay-home notice and isolation facilities will face more stringent measures, such as housing individuals who are there due to Covid-19 on a dedicated floor or a block away from other guests. Such hotels are also required to prominently display notices that it is providing Covid-19 related accommodation.
