The world’s first floating Apple store is set to open in Singapore.
The Marina Bay Sands store, which is the city-state’s third Apple store, features a sphere floating on the waters of Marina Bay, reported Channel News Asia (CNA). It was previously the Avalon club from 2011 to 2016.
Apple said the new Marina Bay Sands store “will be at the heart of creativity, a place we’ve made for you to capture your ideas and passions. It will be a space for you to explore, connect and create something new”.
However, it did not provide any details on the store’s opening date.
In 2017, Apple opened its first store in Singapore at Knightsbridge mall in Orchard Road. It was also Apple’s first outlet in Southeast Asia.
The company opened its second store within the city-state at Jewel Changi Airport in July 2019. The outlet offered customers the opportunity to learn photography techniques via an exclusive session known as The Magic of Jewel Changi Airport Photo Walk.
The programme, however, has been suspended as a COVID-19 precautionary measure.
