Singapore Post (SingPost) on Wednesday (28 October) announced that it will develop a shopping mall that offers a complete suite of e-commerce logistics solutions, bringing together traditional shops and online stores under one roof.
The new shopping mall will be the first-of-its-kind in Singapore.
In a press statement, SingPost said the new mall will offer 25,000 sq m of retail space, and “will offer greater convenience” as consumers can do online shopping through e-merchants and choose delivery and pickup timings.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held today to mark the beginning of construction of the development at Singapore Post Centre (SPC). According to SingPost, construction cost is about S$150 million—including the upgrading of the amenities and façade for the adjoining office building.
The retail mall will consist of four levels and one basement, an eight-hall cineplex, SingPost’s flagship post office, retail shops, as well as food and beverage outlets. The mall will also come with three levels of underground car park, SingPost added.
