A Singapore-based hospitality investment group has acquired a historic gothic landmark hotel in Warwickshire in England for more than £3.2 million (S$6.4 million).
Brownsover UK, lead by Indian Ocean Group Singapore and Deer Creek Advisors, acquired the 47-room Brownsover Hall Hotel in Rugby in a sale that was handled by Colliers International.
Set within seven acres of garden and woodland, the hotel designed in 1855 is made up of the main mansion and several smaller buildings, including the Stables, the Coach House and the Coachman’s Cottage.
Cited in media reports, Julian Troup, Colliers International Head of Hotels Agency, said: “With its sweeping staircase and feature fireplaces, Brownsover Hall Hotel is magnificent. The mansion and surrounding converted accommodation display all the features expected of a traditional gothic period property.
“This latest sale is another example of how we are continuing to see oversees interest in the UK hotels market, particularly from investors in south and south east Asia,” she added.
