Residents of Punggol estate now have a new retail option after the Waterway Point, a four-storey mall, officially opened there on Tuesday (19 April).
Jointly developed by Frasers Centrepoint, Far East Organization and Sekisui House, the 370,824 sq ft retail and lifestyle hub first held its soft opening in mid-January. Since then, it has attracted more than six million visitors, the developers said in a press release.
Aside from its view over Punggol Waterway and Green-Mark certified transportation infrastructure, Waterway Point features over 200 tenants, such as home-grown favourites Shaw Theatres and FairPrice Finest. It also houses international retailers like Uniqlo and popular restaurant London Fat Duck.
Javier Goh, General Manager of the mall’s new-to-suburb tenant London Fat Duck, added: “It is commercially advantageous to establish our presence at Waterway Point because the precinct has shown strong potential. The mall is strategically positioned to serve a growing community and we continue to see high footfall beyond the soft opening period.”
Waterway Point is managed by Frasers Centrepoint Malls. It serves 600,000 residents living and working in the vicinity.
The mall is the retail component of Watertown, first integrated waterfront residential and retail development in the country. The development has a residential component with a total of 992 units.
