Century Square will boast a carefully curated tenant mix, of which 50 percent will be new, when it reopens in 2018 following the completion of a S$60 million asset enhancement initiative (AEI), revealed property manager AsiaMalls Management.
Cinema operator Filmgrande will amplify shoppers’ cinematic experience with new generation projection and sound systems, while Mahota Market, which will occupy the Basement 1 level, will introduce consumers to a novel way of shopping for groceries, with the option of having the purchased items prepared at its onsite restaurant.
The mall will feature an incubator space for local designers at level two as well as a dedicated floor for families and kids. Notably, AsiaMalls has partnered with child care service operator Orange Academy as well as The Learning Lab.
The mall’s rooftop level will be opened to shoppers, with the chance of hosting events and parties in the new landscaped area.
A slew of new dining choices like casual dining eatery Eighteen Chefs and popular hotpot concept Hai Di Lao as well as a digital wall with eBooks from the collection of the National Library Board will also be offered at Century Square when it reopens next year.
Meanwhile, existing tenant Food Junction will return with new branding as The Food Market by Food Junction.
“As we enter into an exciting time for retail, we’re always trying to find innovative ways to provide a more seamless, relevant and purposeful experience for our shoppers. That’s the aim that we have in mind with our Asset Enhancement Initiative for Century Square,” said Tan Kee Yong, Managing Director of AsiaMalls Management.
“At the end of the day, we want to make sure that we enhance the shopping experience, and that it is as multi-faceted as possible, so that Century Square becomes an essential part of the Tampines regional center in terms of service, tenant offers and the overall experience.”
