Frasers Hospitality intends to establish a hi-tech hotel at China Square Central mall under its Capri brand early next year.
Dubbed Capri by Fraser, China Square (pictured), the 304-unit property will have a gross floor area of 16,000 sq ft across 16 floors. Aside from combining the facilities and services offered by a smart hotel with that of a serviced apartment, it will also serve as a test-bed for innovations the company is considering to implement across its other properties globally.
“Capri by Fraser was launched to cater to the unique lifestyle needs of millennial travellers whose needs have evolved and will keep evolving,” said Frasers Hospitality CEO Choe Peng Sum during the property’s topping out ceremony on Tuesday (10 Apr).
For instance, Frasers Hospitality plans to launch a chatbot-powered app that lets guests access a comprehensive range of services like making reservations, enabling check-ins and requesting for housekeeping. Motion sensors will be also used to efficiently determine which rooms are unoccupied and can be cleaned.
Moreover, Capri by Fraser, China Square will be among the first hotels here to adopt a revolutionary linen delivery service, whereby robots transport RFID-tagged items that need to be washed from every floor.
The hotel’s facilities include kitchenettes, all-day dining, a rooftop swimming pool, free high-speed Wi-Fi, conference and meeting rooms, as well as self-service laundrettes equipped with the latest game consoles.
Since the opening of the first property under the brand in 2012 – Capri by Fraser, Changi City – the business has now grown to 16 properties in 14 cities worldwide with a total of over 3,500 rooms.
Eight are already operating in Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, Brisbane, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Berlin and Shenzhen. The rest will open between 2019 and 2021 in cities such as Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo.
