CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotels has opened a second property in Singapore at Kampong Glam following the opening of its first one within Chinatown in 2016, reported FTNnews.
Dubbed as CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotel at Kampong Glam, the property offers a total of 56 capsules each containing either single-sized beds or queen-sized ones.
The smaller beds are housed in capsules measuring 6 ft x 3 ft x 4ft, while the larger ones are within capsules spanning 6 ft x 5 ft x 4 ft. Each room can contain as few as two capsules or up to 18 capsules.
Aside from upscale mattresses and linen, each capsule comes with air-conditioning, a mirror/vanity space, universal electrical outlet and a safe for storing valuables as well as a locker drawer with digital security.
As for the sound-proofed rooms, each comes with spacious bathrooms with standing showers. Guests are given a dental kit, slippers and one towel, upon check-in and this can be exchanged daily. Clients can also use work desks and washing machines with complimentary detergent.
Moreover, visitors are entitled to free Wi-Fi, airport pickups, 24-hour concierge, daily housekeeping and diverse food options as the hotel is adjacent to Yasu Japanese Grill and near many other F&B outlets. They can also log into the Dining Butler, a smartphone app for making food orders and delivery.
The hotel’s lobby also features a Singapore Visitor Centre that offers tours to popular locations across the city-state, particularly in Kampong Glam.
“Kampong Glam is chosen for its vibrancy, charm and rich heritage culture. In addition to the Sultan Mosque and the Malay Heritage Centre, there are a number of shops, cafes, restaurants and other bustling sites such as the hip Haji Lane. The Bugis MRT Station is only a 5-minute walk away.” said the hotel’s Co-Founder and COO Sonia Anya Tay, adding that their customers are usually travellers age 18 to 35.
“The positive interest shown in our properties has inspired us to create a new CUBE Capsule concept which we aim to open before the end of this year. This is very much in line with our vision to grow the number of CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotels to eight in Singapore over the next few years,” she added.
Visitors there get to enjoy the perks of a hotel with the affordability offered by capsules, with prices ranging from $50 and $120 per night.
