Singapore’s Ascendas-Singbridge celebrated the topping out of Office Tower 1 at OneHub Saigon, the first fully integrated business park in Ho Chi Minh City, on Tuesday (24 July).
Located in Saigon Hi-Tech Park, the office building is expected to be handed over in November 2018, with operations targeted to start in Q1 2019.
With a net lettable area of 10,199 sq m, the office building in Saigon Hi-Tech Park has seen robust leasing interest from information technology companies and firms from the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector, as well as financial institutions seeking to establish back office operations.
“Today’s topping out ceremony of Tower 1 marks an important milestone for OneHub Saigon,” said Tan Yew Chin, Ascendas-Singbridge CEO for Singapore and Southeast Asia.
“We are encouraged by the strong interest garnered to date. We are confident in the progress of OneHub Saigon, and are committed to delivering quality, collaborative space to drive the growth of enterprises and industries in Vietnam.”
Aside from offering big floor plates, Office Tower 1 will provide quality space constructed in accordance with global standards and industry specifications. It is also the first LEED Silver certified office building in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 9.
“We have seen the decentralisation trend in the local office market, where companies relocate some parts of their operations to outside the CBD for cost savings purposes. For OneHub Saigon, the leasing progress remains strong. We expect to announce some pre-commitments in the near term,” noted Ascendas Saigon Bund Company’s Chairman Vo Sy Nhan.
Designed by Sydney-based PTW Architects, the main contractor of Office Tower 1 is Coteccons. G-Energy Global was responsible for the sustainable features, Colin K. Okashimo and Associates carried out the landscaping, while CPG Consultants did the civil, structural as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works.
Meanwhile, Ascendas-Singbridge and Saigon Bund Capital Partners is jointly developing the 12ha OneHub Saigon, which consists of a mixed-use commercial block, seven office towers, an education centre, work-office home-offices, and recreational amenities with eco-friendly features.
Ascendas-Singbridge is 51:49 joint venture between Temasek Holdings and JTC Corporation.
