Amaravati Development Partners (ADP), the joint venture between Singapore Amaravati Investment Holdings (SAIH) and Amaravati Development Corporation, will develop an exhibition-cum-community centre within the Amaravati Capital City Start-Up Area in Andhra Pradesh, India.
SAIH is a fully-owned joint venture company of Ascendas-Singbridge Andhra Investment Holdings and Sembcorp Development India.
To mark the first step of its development, a commemorative plaque was unveiled by Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations S Iswaran and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Called the Welcome Gallery (pictured), the exhibition-cum-community centre will be nestled on a 2.6ha site, featuring a built-up area of 4,080 sq m and an accommodation capacity of 2,000 to 3,000 visitors.
It will consist of a City Gallery, Community Zone, Exhibition Zone, Engagement Zone and co-working spaces to house startups.
Forming part of the bigger Catalytic Development Area, the gallery will play a role in generating activities within the area that will spread throughout the entire area over time.
The Catalytic Development Area, which spans 20ha and is being developed as part of Phase 1 of the Start-Up Area, will comprise 75,000 sq m of residential, retail and office spaces. To be developed in three phases over the next 20 years, the Start-Up Area comes with a total development land area of 6.84 sq km.
“The Welcome Gallery will be a touchpoint for visitors and citizens to get a glimpse of Amaravati Capital City as it develops,” said Smt. Lakshmi Partharsarathy (IAS), vice-chairperson of ADP.
Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) commissioner Dr. Sreedhar Cherukuri (IAS) noted that the Amaravati Capital City represents the strong partnership between the Singapore government and Andhra Pradesh.
“Development of the Welcome Gallery represents a key milestone towards the smooth completion of the Catalytic Development Area. We will continue to strive towards developing Amaravati as a smart, sustainable and efficient city by working with the master developers to promote investments and boost economic activities in the city.”
