The transfer of Housing and Development Board’s (HDB) industrial properties and land to JTC will take effect on 1 January 2018, revealed the agencies on Wednesday (29 November).
The transfer was first announced by the government on 19 October last year, while the Jurong Town Corporation (Amendment) Act 2017 was passed in Parliament on 11 September this year.
In a joint release, HDB and JTC noted that the consolidation of all public sector industrial properties and land under a single government agency will allow JTC to better support industrialists in their business growth.
“Customers will enjoy one-stop access to the full range of public sector industrial facilities, and receive better support for their land and space needs across the different stages of business growth,” they said.
For the convenience of industrial lessees and tenants, counter services will continue to be available at HDB Hub in Toa Payoh following the transfer.
A customer service centre at The JTC Summit in Jurong East will also serve customers from 1 January 2018.
