AsiaMalls partners Grab on cashless payment

Shoppers at Hougang Mall, Tiong Bahru Plaza, Liang Court, White Sands, Century Square (pictured) and Tampines 1 will soon enjoy cashless payments at these malls while benefiting from various perks, privileges and rewards from Chinese New Year next year.

This comes as AsiaMalls Management inked a memorandum of understanding with Grab to establish GrabPay as the preferred payment service provider across the mall operator’s network of six shopping malls starting from January 2019.

The partnership “is expected to extend GrabPay’s reach and leverage its innovation to enhance the shopping experience of AsiaMalls shoppers through special GrabRewards and AMperkz benefits”, said AsiaMalls and Grab in a joint release.

GrabRewards is Grab’s loyalty programme in which users are rewarded for their everyday transactions, while AMperkz is AsiaMalls rewards programme that enables shoppers to earn points and redeem member benefits like carpark redemptions and shopping vouchers.

GrabPay Singapore head Gary Wong revealed that over 6,000 merchants are currently accepting GrabPay while over 80 percent of Singapore Grab users are using GrabPay for various services.

“At AsiaMalls, we are always looking for ways to bring more value to the communities, not only through our curation of tenant mix, but also through synergistic partnerships such as this. Over the years, we have forged strong bonds with both our shoppers and strategic partners, and we are confident that this partnership will continue to unlock greater value for all stakeholders,” said AsiaMalls Management executive director Ong Kee Leng.
