Jewel Changi Airport, a massive mixed-use project costing $1.7 billion, is set to open on 17 April, revealed Senior Minister of State for Transport Lam Pin Min on Thursday (7 Mar).
Prior to its official opening, the public will have a chance to visit and preview the highly-anticipated development from 11 to 16 April, said its operator Changi Airport Group (CAG).
“During the preview, which will run in four three-hour time blocks from 10am to 10pm daily, visitors will be able to explore various points of interest in Jewel, such as the lush greenery of the four-storey Forest Valley with two walking trails and take in the magnificent 40m Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall,” said CAG.
“They will also be able to shop and dine at more than 90 percent of Jewel’s 280 shopping and dining outlets.”
Aside from an 11-screen cineplex, a shop by food chain A&W and Pokemon Center Singapore, guests can also look forward to new restaurants entering Asia for the first time. These include American fast food chain Shake Shack, Swiss chocolatier Laderach and Norwegian casual seafood resto Pink Fish.
Moreover, the 10-storey Jewel Changi Airport will contain numerous Singapore brands such as gallery store Supermama, design retailer Naiise and Tiger Beer, which will be launching its first Tiger Street Lab that will sell exclusive seasonal brews.
Famous local chef Violet Oon will also open her biggest restaurant that will serve mouth-watering dishes like dry laksa.
Those who want to preview Jewel Changi Airport just need to register at jewelpreview.com starting on 12 March in order to get free tickets. Each person can register a maximum of four individuals, and a total of around 500,000 tickets will be up for grabs.
